Schramm Vodka does not disappoint

The Pemberton Distillery website boasts of Schramm Vodka’s silky smooth taste, which is derived from the meticulous hand-crafted distilling process and locally grown organic potatoes used in its making. Fortunately, every claim made by the creator of this Vodka is true. Not only is the vodka smooth from start to finish, it is also embodied with a plethora of flavours which will take the drinker many bottles to fully explore. The very first thing that jumped out at me when I readied myself for the first sip was the aromatic smell which emanated from the glass; one of the many unusual attributes of this vodka. The closest resemblance I can draw is from the smell of a true aged Tequila. The taste, however, is anything but. Keeping a close eye on the distillation process, the makers of Schramm Vodka have created a truly unique taste. When compared to a similarly priced mass-market potato vodka such as Chopin, Schramm Vodka bombards the taste buds with a much stronger potato flavour, while at the same time maintaining a smooth aftertaste.

Vodka drinkers beware: This is not your run of the mill vodka. It is not meant to be mixed into screwdrivers, but rather drunk on ice, as part of a martini, or enjoyed in a shot glass. If the LCBO in Ontario offered this Vodka, it would be one of two which I would regularly purchase in the ‘luxury’ category, the other being Chopin. Unfortunately, the only way to get your hands on this vodka in Ontario is by calling the Pemberton Distillery and getting a bottle shipped.

Price: $49.99 + $20 shipping for up to two bottles. (Ontario)
