When you think of the top vodka producers, you think of most Eastern European countries like Poland or Russia. Recently at the 2010 World Spirits Awards held in Klagenfurt, Austria, a Canadian distiller from B.C. won the ‘Double Gold' and ‘Spirit of the Year' award for his unique concoction of potato vodka.
At the moment, you can only buy the vodka locally in B.C. However, there are plans to start shipping in other parts of Canada.
Mike has already sent them an email to see if they're able to ship to Ottawa! Hopefully we're able to grab a bottle for a taste test!

UPDATE: We got an email back from Pemberton Distillery letting us know that they are able to ship to Ottawa! Once we get our order in, we'll make another post for the review. I can't wait to try some potato vodka from BC!

4th of July (Cocktail version)
This delicious cocktail is usually mixed as a shot. Here is Mike's recipe for the cocktail version:
Glass type: Cocktail Glass
Ingredients for 1 person:
1.5 oz good quality, freezing cold, Vodka (I used Luksusowa)
0.75 oz Blue CuraƧao Liqueur
0.5 oz Rose's Grenadine
Instructions:
Pour all ingredients into a Cocktail Shaker filled with Ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass.
Taste:
The taste of the Vodka is almost completely masked by the other two ingredients, which give a cherry-orange flavour to the drink. This is a dangerous one!
